manganese dioxide
Lithium metal is used as the negative electrode, and heat treated manganese dioxide is used as the positive electrode. The isolation membrane is made of PP or PE film. The cylindrical battery is the same as the lithium ion battery membrane, and the electrolyte is an organic solution of lithium perchlorate, cylindrical or button type. Batteries need to be produced in a dry environment with a humidity of ≤ 1%.
Features: Low self-discharge rate, annual self-discharge can be ≤ 1%, fully sealed (metal welded, lazer seal) batteries can meet the life span of 10 years, and semi sealed batteries generally have a life span of 5 years. If the work control is not good, this life span cannot be reached. Yiwei, which has done a good job in the development of cylindrical lithium manganese batteries, has achieved automated production, and batteries can be tested for short circuit and over discharge without explosion.
Generally, on the main board of a desktop computer, there is a button type lithium battery that provides a weak current and can be used normally for about three years. Some hotel access cards, instruments, and meters also use lithium manganese dioxide batteries, with the usage decreasing year by year.
Thionyl chloride
Using lithium metal as the negative electrode, thionyl chloride (sulfoxide chloride) as the positive electrode and electrolyte, a cylindrical battery is powered upon assembly, with a voltage of 3.6V. It is one of the most stable battery types with the highest capacity per unit volume (mass). Suitable for use on electronic instruments and equipment that cannot be frequently maintained, providing subtle currents.
Other lithium batteries include lithium ferrous sulfide batteries, lithium sulfur oxide batteries, and so on.
