What Is Lithium Battery?

Lithium battery is a rechargeable battery that uses lithium ions as the active ions in an electrochemical reaction to store and release electrical energy. It is a high energy density, long life, no memory effect and light weight battery, which is widely used in mobile electronics, electric vehicles, energy storage systems and other fields.

1. lithium-ion battery (Li-ion battery): using liquid or polymer anhydrous electrolyte, with high energy density and long life, widely used in mobile electronics and electric vehicles and other fields.
2. Li-polymer battery (Li-polymer battery): using polymer electrolyte, can be made into ultra-thin, flexible film battery, with higher energy density and lighter weight, but relatively more expensive.
3. Li-iron battery (LiFePO4 battery): LiFePO4 material is used as the cathode, and the electrolyte is usually organic liquid, which has high safety, long life and high discharge current characteristics, and is widely used in electric vehicles and other fields.
4. lithium-sulfur battery (Li-S battery): using sulfur as the positive electrode and lithium metal or graphite as the negative electrode, with higher energy density and lower cost, but there are still problems of life cycle and safety.
5. Lithium-air battery (Li-air battery): using air as the positive electrode and lithium metal as the negative electrode, with very high energy density and long life, but is still under research and development.
